Many a times, men and women who change the destiny of their nations, their villages their communities or even their homes are born in our midst. They are, in the words of Money Bags in Parliament of Owls, people of "monumental moment". Forgive me for putting the name of Money Bags here.

Burkina Faso had their own Thomas Sankara in Ougadougo
u and have the fabulous Ibrahim Traore, Jamaica had Marcus Garvey, South Africa Nelson Mandela, Kenya Dethan Kimathi, Rwanda Paul Kagame and many more heroes and sheroes(Heroines) of our world.

Kimuron, the famous school etched 12 km to the North of the Home of Champions, has David Lekuta Rudisha.

When David Rudisha set his foot in Kimuron, he had his mission well cut out for him. He knew from the onset that he had a date with destiny to change his life and could not allow any moment of fleeting doubt to cloud his mind.

Former Kimuron athletics coach, Samson Kasimiri, has kind words for legend Rudisha.

"Rudisha had humility despite his success," he notes. "He had a phone which he always handed over to me when he reported back to school."

Brother Colm O'Connell, the Irish athletics aristocrat, played a crucial role of supporting David Rudisha in his journey to excellence. To date, Kimuron remains the only school in the whole world that has produced three consecutive Olympic champions in 800m in three consecutive Olympics: David Rudisha(2012,2016) and Emmanuel Korir(2020).

Samson Kasimiri affirms that David Rudisha never allowed fame to go into his head. In so doing, he began a tradition, that would, decades later on, define what Kimuron will always be: a factory of sheer raw talent in athletics.

Many students began emulating what Rudisha was doing. In the process, they too curved their own corners of success in the athletics track. They include Emmanuel Korir,(Olympic Champion),  John Korir(Chicago and Boston Marathon champ), Daniel Selel, Charles Simatwo, Fred Kanda(Eastern Kentucky) , Brian Limo, Mathew Kosgei(New Mexico) , Hillary Cheruiyot(Alabama) , Phanuel Koech,(World Youth Peru), Cornelius Kipkosgei(FEASSSA champ) , Benson Tipapa Kirongosi(ISF champ) , Emmanuel Kosgei, among many others whose journey would not have been possible without the little Masai boy who dared to dream in Kimuron-David Rudisha.

St. Francis Kimuron will always be indebted to David Rudisha for instilling the culture of sports discipline in Kimuron's 'Home of fame".

Principal Boniface Kunusia and current coach, Boniface Limoh, have gone out of their way to support the young athletes in their journey to excellence. Many a times has the Principal chipped in to support the athletes acquire passports to enable them compete in international events.

Kimuron will never waver from its sacred duty of turning boys into men.
